26: Clause 15, page 9, line 15, at end insert—
“(3A) A Minister of the Crown may not exercise the power conferred by subsection (2) before full consultations have been conducted on any proposed changes with—
(a) the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission,
(b) the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland, and
(c) the Joint Committee of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission and the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission,
and the Minister has published the outcome of such consultations.”
Member’s explanatory statement
This amendment requires a Minister to consult with a number of human rights and equalities bodies before using the powers in subsection (2) of Clause 15 in relation to excluded provision.
