Health and Social Care Bill (Programme) (No. 3)

I am grateful for that example. It illustrates the importance of that improvement, the value that people place on it and how critical it is to people's health and well-being. I know that we shall come later to the clauses that lift the cap on private patient work, which the Minister mentioned in his opening remarks. If the cap on private patient work in NHS foundation trusts is lifted and those trusts are under financial pressure—those of us who are in touch with our hospital trusts know that they are under financial pressure, with the reductions in the tariff and other issues—the level of private sector involvement in NHS trusts will increase.
