124E: After Clause 44, insert the following new Clause— ““Offence of paying for signatures (1) A person commits an offence if the person makes a payment— (a) to any person to carry out the collection of signatures on a petition under this section, or (b) to any person to organise any other persons to carry out the collection of signatures on a petition under this section. (2) A person who is guilty of an offence under this section is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale.””
