Postal Services Bill

Proceeding contribution from Lord Kennedy of Southwark (Labour) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 4 May 2011. It occurred during Debate on bills on Postal Services Bill.
My Lords, I thank all noble Lords who have spoken in the debate. I also thank the Minister for her response, although it was disappointing. My amendment does not seek to affect the disposal of Royal Mail; it merely seeks to protect the name. I will not press the amendment to a vote, but the Government have taken an unnecessary and risky decision. I hope that they are right, but if they are proved to be wrong a tragedy will result which could so easily have been avoided. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment 9 withdrawn. Amendments 10 to 14 not moved. Amendment 15 Moved by
