The hon. Gentleman said earlier that parties ducked the issue during the election campaign. Presumably, when the Liberal Democrats said,""You'd pay £389 more a year in VAT under the Conservatives","
that was an explicit warning that the hon. Gentleman believed, and which formed part of an election platform. The question is: when did he stop believing that?
