Amendment 51
51: Clause 2, page 3, line 37, at end insert—
““( ) A principal local authority may by a resolution made at a meeting of the authority amend the list of authorities that are connected to it by the provisions of this section so as to add to that list any public bodies or class of public bodies which—
(a) are established in the area of the principal local authority;
(b) provide services or facilities to persons who live in the area of the principal local authority on behalf of that authority or another local authority; or
(c) provide services or facilities to persons who live in the area of the principal local authority which are significantly provided by the use of public funds.
( ) Before passing such a resolution, the principal local authority shall give not less than two months’ notice by public advertisement and by notifying each body that it thinks the resolution affects.””
