The position is that if the association is used as a cover simply to channel money directly from a donor to a party by providing a cloak of anonymity, that is against the law, as it stands—and rightly so. No one suggests that that situation should be different. I understand the hon. Gentleman's concern and his wish for all this to be strengthened, but the proposal does not strengthen things.
