The right hon. Gentleman rightly suggests that those powers should be strengthened and that unincorporated bodies should make declarations to the Electoral Commission. He stated that a law already covered the requirement for donations of more than £200 by an unincorporated association to be declared, but that is not the Electoral Commission's view. When asked, its written response to myself and others has been that unincorporated bodies do not have to provide such information. That is a huge gap in the law, is it not?
