It is totally unfair to suggest that we have not had ample time to discuss this Bill. I am pleased to follow the hon. Member for Meirionnydd Nant Conwy (Mr. Llwyd), who made his point about the Committee proceedings well.
We started discussing this Bill in mid-April. We held an evidence session on 22 April, when we heard from people who were both for and against the Bill. We went into the Public Bill Committee on 29 April, and had five sitting days. We are now, on 10 June, debating the Bill in the House. I believe that we have had sufficient time to look at the detail of the Bill, and it is quite unfair to suggest otherwise.
