Energy Bill

Proceeding contribution from Martin Horwood (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 30 April 2008. It occurred during Debate on bills on Energy Bill.
There are differences between the German and British energy markets; for example, we have a more deregulated and liberalised market. However, if the hon. Gentleman is suggesting that we should move towards the German model much more quickly, I entirely agree. I give due credit to the Minister because, in Committee, he seemed to be moving in the direction of feed-in tariffs. However, in the words of the hon. Member for Nottingham, South, we need quickly to unleash much greater momentum. I am afraid that the Minister must move considerably faster, and new clause 4 is the method by which he can do that.
