Climate Change Bill [HL]

Proceeding contribution from Lord Davies of Oldham (Labour) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 18 March 2008. It occurred during Debate on bills on Climate Change Bill [HL].
moved Amendment No. 211: 211: Schedule 5, page 62, leave out line 8 The noble Lord said: My Lords, in moving government Amendment No. 211 in the name of my noble friend Lord Rooker I shall speak also to government Amendment No. 220. These are drafting amendments designed to improve the quality and consistency of the drafting. The two amendments, in combination, move the definition of ““specified”” in paragraph 1(3) from the main body of provisions in Schedule 5 to the ““interpretation”” section. This ““interpretation”” section contains all the other definitions of terms used in that schedule and is therefore a more logical home for the definition of ““specified””. I assure the House that the amendments have no further effect beyond improving the quality of the drafting. I beg to move.
