UK Borders Bill

Proceeding contribution from Lord Avebury (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 23 October 2007. It occurred during Debate on bills on UK Borders Bill.
My Lords, the new subsection states clearly that new evidence can be considered only if it, "““is adduced to prove that a document is genuine or valid””." We are considering a case where a document is manifestly not genuine or is invalid because of an error. It could be that the person has put the wrong piece of paper in the post or there is a clerical error on a particular form. It is the other way round from the circumstances described in the particular subsection I mentioned.
