Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Bill

I shall speak to the two amendments in my name, which are also probing amendments. In Amendment No. 238Y, after ““local authority”” we seek to add the words, "““a person or body providing services to or on behalf of the National Health Service or of a local authority””." It is an attempt to gain a clearer vision of who is involved. In Amendment No. 238Z, we seek to leave out paragraph (e), which seems to give rather too much leeway to the Secretary of State by covering everything. If the Secretary of State fails to name all the service providers, he has a fall-back position. That seems a little over-heavy and I question whether it is really necessary. If it is, it tends to indicate that the issue may not have been thought through quite as fully as it should have been. I have also added my name to many of the other amendments in this group.
