Freedom of Information (Amendment) Bill

I will not. We strongly support the freedom of information legislation and we are appalled by Her Majesty’s Government’s attempts to curtail the release of such information. However, the Bill is very narrow. The amendments that we have debated this morning do not improve the Bill; I am not convinced that they have been well thought out. I have listened to the arguments and they are well intentioned, of course; however, Opposition Front-Benchers do not feel that the amendments do anything to improve what is a very modest, small Bill.
