Pensions Bill

Proceeding contribution from James Purnell (Labour) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 18 April 2007. It occurred during Debate on bills on Pensions Bill.
I want to draw the hon. Gentleman’s attention to Hansard. His colleague did not say that he thought that the decision could be taken now. He said:"““We believe, however, that restoring the earnings link to provide that stability is affordable now.?—[Official Report, 16 January 2007; Vol. 455, c. 673.]" That could not be clearer. I know that the hon. Gentleman has tried to correct that. All I am trying to do is point out that, when it comes to policy, every now and then the Conservatives are not quite clear about how they would fund their proposals.
