Fraud (Trials without a Jury) Bill

If it is a safe verdict either way, why are we passing this Bill? That is the question that needs to be addressed. The new clause is not a wrecking amendment. I reassure the Solicitor-General that is designed to go to the very heart of the Government’s concerns. By doing so and if the Government realise that their concerns are misplaced, at this late hour I urge him to tell his colleagues to drop the Bill.
