Animal Welfare Bill

Proceeding contribution from Lord Rooker (Labour) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 23 May 2006. It occurred during Debate on bills and Committee proceeding on Animal Welfare Bill.
I apologise to the noble Lord. I had a note saying ““mouse papers””—the snag is, I can’t read it. Mouse paper-trapped mice would be under the control of man. Mouse papers would be likely to cause unnecessary suffering. Does that assist the noble Lord? The noble Duke raised a fair point about the number of days you can hold a wild animal. It would vary from animal to animal. The only example is of foxes, but there could be others. I shall not elaborate on this at the moment.
