Identity Cards Bill

The Minister made an excellent case for these amendments. I could not work out what was left with regard to ““connected with”” that could not be covered by ““necessary for””, particularly as regards the phrase ““genuine need”” that the Minister used. You have all these protections with regard to the genuine need of various departments to have this information, so why do you need the wider phrase ““connected with””? The regulations will restrict the measure so the Minister has made an excellent case for these amendments.
