Commons Bill [HL]

Proceeding contribution from Duke of Montrose (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 2 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bills and Committee proceeding on Commons Bill [HL].
I have been interested to hear what the Minister has had to say on the matter. Whether I am recommending the list of options or not, it seems that Clause 29 is to a certain extent the Government’s response to the question of whether there could be prescribed national constitution terms. If we go through this, we will be setting out a potential list for a draft constitution. I am basically in favour of it, although we would look at it in terms of the content. The discussion on moneys will be interesting; we will all be interested in what the Minister has to say on that. Amendment No. 141 was just a probing amendment, so we are glad to hear how the Minister responded. With that, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. [Amendments Nos. 140 and 141 not moved.] Clause 29 agreed to. Clause 30 [Functions]:
