Commons Bill [HL]

Proceeding contribution from Lord Williams of Elvel (Labour) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 2 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bills and Committee proceeding on Commons Bill [HL].
moved Amendment No. 110:"Page 32, line 7, leave out paragraph 2." The noble Lord said: I want to raise two points with my noble friend. First, on timing, I understand that there is much concern in some commons registration authorities about an open-ended time period for a transitional period. They need to know what kind of time period is envisaged and whether we shall have a clear indication of how that will work. Secondly, on correction of registers, I note that the Bill as drafted states,"““in the case of a right of common attached to land, the apportionment or severance of the right””." I return to the question that I raised earlier in Committee. Does that include rights attached to a farm business tenancy where those rights are apportioned from the dominant tenement into the tenancy? I beg to move.
