Will the Minister consider going a little further than the new clause goes? This procedure relates to complaints against the commissioner himself or herself. As I understand it, he or she has to consult the Assembly about the complaints procedure but it does not require the Assembly’s approval. Given that this procedure relates to complaints against the commissioner himself or herself, the Assembly should approve such a procedure or process, and confirm that it is satisfied that such a complaints procedure is rigorous enough. I hope the Minister will ponder between now and Report whether we should go a little further with the clause than proposed in the amendment.
