I am grateful to the noble Lords, Lord Livsey and Lord Roberts, for supporting the amendment. I have listened very carefully to what the Minister said. I am not sure that there is such a huge gap between my own and the Government’s positions, but I shall study carefully what he said. I very much hope that he and his officials will also consider the arguments that I have sought to advance in support of a principle of investigating where the public interest requires such an examination. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment.
Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.
[Amendment No. 81 not moved.]
