I support my noble friend Lady Byford. I am sure that at a future date we shall have the debate about ““agricultural sustainability””. I did my time at agricultural college and I have to say that I am somewhat confused by the terminology. It seems to have no definition. I should understand that ““agricultural sustainability”” could refer to stocking rates on land of livestock or that it would define the dates when cattle or livestock should be brought on to land and when they should be taken off land to stop poaching. But nobody is defining those things. Is it defining organic livestock, other sorts of livestock or what? More to the point, which my noble friend Lady Byford talked about, who will be the judge of it? Will Natural England take up that role? If so, who are the professionals, the scientists, who will bring forth the criteria to judge whether agriculture is sustainable? I do not know whether the noble Lord, Lord Livsey, had an understanding of what the words ““agricultural sustainability”” mean.
