Civil Aviation Bill

Proceeding contribution from Laura Moffatt (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 10 October 2005. It occurred during Debate on bills on Civil Aviation Bill.
I thank my hon. Friend for that comment, but I rest my case. We should support economic activity at our local airports and ensure that our constituents have as much peace as possible, particularly at night. The arguments are difficult. Conservative Members have already pointed out that Gatwick’s position in the family of airports would be compromised if the considerable number of night flights were to end. We must move forward cautiously on reducing night noise.
