Courts and Tribunals (Judiciary and Functions of Staff) Bill [HL]

I am grateful to the Minister for his answer and to other noble Lords for their interventions, particularly the comments of the noble and learned Lord, Lord Judge, and the noble Lord, Lord Pannick. I set out my broad concerns about the Bill, but I want to be distinct about this amendment in particular. I think that it was worth asking the Minister to set out in some detail not only the Government’s intentions in relation to this power but their view of the power, what they are able and not able to do and the fact that they are not able under this power to amend primary legislation. With that firm statement

of belief in the law around this power and the intention, I am grateful to the Minister and happy to beg leave to withdraw the amendment.
