Energy Bill

Proceeding contribution from Lord Whitty (Labour) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 30 July 2013. It occurred during Debate on bills and Committee proceeding on Energy Bill.

I understand that, and it would be possible to express those provisions in slightly narrower terms than the exclusions in the Bill. I shall leave it there. It is a warning that this could be a danger for the

Government and for those who want to see some contracts for difference signed, particularly in the nuclear industry. If there is any feeling that something has not been disclosed, future Governments may well suffer from it. I thank the Minister for the reassurances that she has given. Before the end of the process, the Government should make a few more but, for the moment, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment.
