Nationality and Borders Bill

Proceeding contribution from Tom Pursglove (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 20 April 2022. It occurred during Debate on bills on Nationality and Borders Bill.

I thank Members across the House for their contributions to this afternoon’s debate on issues that are of the utmost importance. I would argue

that there is a moral imperative to act that underpins the Government’s approach in addressing the challenges. It simply is not good enough for people to say what they do not want and what they do not like: when criticising and arguing that something is wrong, they have to present a credible alternative plan, particularly if they have ambitions to govern. This Bill delivers our comprehensive plan—the only credible plan—to address these issues. Now is the time to get on and deliver it.
