Nationality and Borders Bill

Proceeding contribution from Iain Duncan Smith (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 8 December 2021. It occurred during Debate on bills on Nationality and Borders Bill.

For clarification, we argued for the period as a de minimis, to give greater scope and time for the person’s case to be resolved fairly and reasonably. That was all. We could go further and further, but it is a compromise. I fully accept the right hon. Gentleman’s point, but I simply say to my colleagues

that it is a minimum that they can take further and extend further, and they should be encouraged to do so if they wish.
