Health and Care Bill

Proceeding contribution from Edward Argar (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 22 November 2021. It occurred during Debate on bills on Health and Care Bill.

If I may make a little progress, I will then give way to my former boss, the former Secretary of State, and then, if I have time, to my hon. Friend.

To reiterate, as my right hon. Friend, the Prime Minister, said on 7 September, nobody—nobody—will be “worse off” than under the current system. Currently,

around half of all older adults in care receive some state support for their care costs. This will rise to roughly two thirds under these reforms. This clause would also make a number of minor technical amendments to other sections of the Care Act 2014.
