National Insurance Contributions (Termination Awards and Sporting Testimonials) Bill

The hon. Lady will have heard my earlier intervention. It is not uncommon for people to give very generously when they have a favourite sportsperson. It could happen that someone expects to get £30,000 over the course of a year, yet people are so generous that they give £60,000. Should that be backdated? In other words, if the additional £30,000 could be given to charity,

does that impact on the whole amount or the part amount? This what happens in real life; it is not as straightforward as perhaps the Government think.
