I too congratulate the hon. Gentleman on bringing forward this Bill, and the number of people here this morning attest to its importance and the support there is for it, which I certainly share in. Does he agree that important lessons should be learned from the action taken by Tony Blair’s Government between 1998 and 2009, when rough sleeping was cut by three quarters, not least the close focus on the issue that the Prime Minister personally gave it? Does he believe that he will enlist the present Prime Minister’s equal focus in cutting the level of rough sleeping we clearly face?
