My hon. Friend made a point about the explanatory notes. Is not the real problem with clause 18 enunciated in paragraph 109 of those notes? It states:"““This clause does not alter the existing relationship between EU law and UK domestic law; in particular, the principle of the primacy of EU law.””"
That is what upsets the British people, and it is for that reason that we ought to put the matter of sovereignty and of our continued membership of the EU to the British people in a referendum.
