Parliamentary Voting System and Constituencies Bill

That is a defect of all alternative vote systems. One reason I like the first-past-the-post system is that it is clear for people to understand. The most popular candidate wins, and we do not get into this business of having to go for the lowest common denominator. My amendment would put into the Bill the only AV system already operating in our country—it operates in London and the rest of England for mayoral elections.
