The other people who would benefit from AV are all the Members of this House. Everyone would then be able to say, ““I have the conditional or actual support of more than 50 per cent. of my electorate, and that gives me greater authority.”” In my three elections, that has happened to me only once, and unfortunately only one in three Members can say that it happened to them at the last election.
