If the hon. Gentleman looks at clause 41, which is headed "Resignation or removal of the Comptroller and Auditor General", it might set his mind at rest. It states:""Her Majesty may remove from office the person who is the Comptroller and Auditor General on an address of both Houses of Parliament.""
That is an accepted procedure that also applies to other senior posts, so I hope that it provides the hon. Gentleman with some reassurance.
