I have completely forgotten what the noble Lord, Lord Thomas, asked me. I think that he said that the regulations are useful and that he is pleased to see them in place.
With that in mind, I reiterate that the Freedom of Information (Time for Compliance with Request) Regulations 2009 apply to specific types of schools and pupil referral units in Northern Ireland to address specific circumstances where it is impractical to comply with 20 working days. They will not apply to the majority of requests and do not remove the obligation on Northern Ireland schools and units to comply with these requests promptly. I therefore hope that noble Lords will agree that this is a necessary, common-sense measure.
Motion agreed.
