Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Bill [HL]

My Lords, I take the point that the noble Lord, Lord Judd, has made. I hope that the Minister will tell us that she accepts the principle, if not the amendment. I realise that it is a late stage at which to accept an amendment that might need to be redrafted to fit the Bill, even though the principle is sound. However, I echo the call of the noble Lord, Lord Tope, for the Minister to take the amendment to her colleagues in another place to see if we can make some headway there, so that we may continue to improve the Bill. Finally, I thank the Minister and the noble Lord, Lord Patel, for their constructive and understanding approach. I also thank the Bill team for its hard work in helping us to achieve a much better Bill.
