Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Bill [HL]

My Lords, I detect rather muted support for my amendment at this stage. It is unlikely that we will see considerable devolution and decentralisation of power without some change to the way in which local authorities and other public authorities approach some of their tasks. To enhance and strengthen local government in the long term, we need to build on ways of working for the future. At this stage, however, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment 71 withdrawn. Amendments 72 to 75 not moved.
