I am listening with great interest to what the hon. Gentleman has to say. Given his concern in relation to the perception that big money, as he puts it, is buying influence, why set the cap at £50,000? Surely it should be considerably lower, although the great British public at large would think even such a sum one that could influence decision making or give access to politicians.
