Social Security

Proceeding contribution from Oliver Heald (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 12 February 2009. It occurred during Debates on delegated legislation on Social Security.
Savings credit is help for pensioners who have a bit of income on top of their basic state pension. Why is the Minister cutting back on that? The Pensions Policy Institute described the policy as ““a tighter squeeze on Savings Credit””. Why is that being done so far ahead of the change to basic state pension earnings?
