Pensions Bill

Proceeding contribution from Lord Lucas (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Monday, 27 October 2008. It occurred during Debate on bills on Pensions Bill.
moved, as an amendment to Amendment No. 78B, Amendment No. 78K: 78K: Before Schedule 9, line 90, leave out ““issued by reference to material detriment test: defence”” and insert ““: supplementary”” The noble Lord said: My Lords, the amendments concern what we might call the defence. The Minister may be glad to know that I shall not move amendments in the groups led by Amendments Nos. 78R and 78S, which seem to me to cover mostly supplementary matters with which we can deal in discussion on this group, although if he wants to raise any matters in his notes and waves at me desperately, I will also move them so that he can talk about them. For some reason, I think that all the consequential amendments have been bundled into another couple of groups rather than chucked in here.
