My hon. Friend is wrong on this, as he is on so many matters now, sadly. There has been a significant extension of trade union rights. The Bill is about improving another important aspect of trade union and civil liberties: the national minimum wage, which is the subject to which I shall now turn. As an amateur political historian, I found it interesting to hear Conservative Members try to justify why once upon a time they voted against the minimum wage.
