Planning Bill

Proceeding contribution from Jacqui Lait (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 25 June 2008. It occurred during Debate on bills on Planning Bill.
There is a very quick answer to that question: no. Those are part of the undemocratic nature of the Bill. The Bill does not chime with the history, traditions or beliefs of the British people. It is centralising, in that it will take power away from communities rather than giving it to them, and I advise my hon. Friends to vote against its Third Reading at 8 o'clock. I hope that the Lords will send it back to us in a much better state.
