Social Security

Proceeding contribution from James Clappison (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 21 February 2008. It occurred during Legislative debate on Social Security.
I shall give way in a moment. My next line was going to be the answer to a question put in an earlier intervention by my hon. Friend the Member for South-West Hertfordshire (Mr. Gauke). That answer being that Britain has the highest proportion of children in workless families of anywhere in Europe. If either the hon. Member for Swindon or the hon. Member for West Bromwich, West (Mr. Bailey) wants to deny that, I give them the chance to do so.
