Greater London Authority Bill

Proceeding contribution from Tom Brake (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 11 October 2007. It occurred during Debate on bills on Greater London Authority Bill.
I support the amendments with the same caveats about confirmation hearings. When we debated the matter in Committee, we were keen to see an extension to the range of people who could be subject to confirmation hearings. That has not been the case but we support these individual amendments. Lords amendment agreed to. Lords amendments Nos. 33 and 34 agreed to. Committee appointed to draw up Reasons to be assigned to the Lords for disagreeing to their amendments Nos. 1 and 2: Tom Brake, John Healey, Chris Mole, Robert Neill and Mr. Dave Watts to be members of the Committee; John Healey to be the Chairman of the Committee; Three to be the quorum of the Committee.—[Mr. Watts.] To withdraw immediately. Reasons for disagreeing to certain Lords amendments reported, and agreed to; to be communicated to the Lords.
