Offender Management Bill

My Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 47A consequential on their agreement to Lords Amendment No. 47. Your Lordships will be relieved to know that this is the last of my amendments. It is an entirely technical amendment proposed by parliamentary counsel. Commons Amendment No. 47A simply clarifies Amendment No. 47, which added a definition of ““provider of probation services”” to the Interpretation Act 1978 at Third Reading. This will enable the further necessary consequential amendments to work effectively. I am confident that the amendment will excite a huge amount of interest and attention in this House, and will be greatly delighted if it does. Moved, That the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 47A consequential on their agreement to Lords Amendment No. 47.—(Baroness Scotland of Asthal.) On Question, Motion agreed to.
