The Ministry of Justice, as I believe we now call it, is carefully trying to find ways of making the Act less effective from the perspective of those who are now seeking information. We all know that.
I am disappointed with the Minister’s response. I believe that it is important to have the pressures of maximum transparency on the delivery authority. I will not press this amendment or return to it but, if we ultimately discover that the delivery authority does not demonstrate those virtues of the pursuit of transparency in due course, the Minister’s words will come back to haunt him. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment.
Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.
