Greater London Authority Bill

I support my noble friend Lord Harris. I do not support these amendments or, indeed, Amendment No. 13. I agree that the amendment changes the principle of the strong mayor model. It does, however, argue very strongly for some of the argument we have just had on previous amendments, which is that the process of having confirmatory hearings needs to be thoroughly professional and transparent. I would like to put some emphasis on our earlier conversations.
