I support the amendment. Eight weeks sounds right to me. I do not want to repeat what has been said, but before Report could the amendment be revised to deal with what appears to be the growing problem of the sale of stolen dogs in pubs and elsewhere? If the dogs were found to be stolen, the relevant person would be charged with theft, or whatever the relevant crime was. However, it is important to try to restrict sales other than from places which could be easily identified and traced.
