Does the hon. Gentleman accept the moral principle that one should act in such a way that if everyone else acted in that way, the result would be acceptable? If everyone acted in the way that he suggests—all ignoring the fact of global warming because no one else can act efficiently or effectively enough to solve the problem—the result would be a disaster. Does he not accept that the moral imperative is to set an example to the rest of the world?
